“Taming Lyons” is a 10-episode investigative documentary podcast that tells the epic true story of Judy Petrucci, the tenacious Little League mom from my hometown of Lyons, Illinois, who risked her life and ran for mayor to help the Feds take down the Chicago mob in “Operation Safebet,” the most successful organized crime vice sting in U.S. history. But Taming Lyons is not only a story about the past.

The series, driven by the personal stories of over three dozen interviewees from both sides of the law, also traces Lyons’ legacy of infamy to present day, as a new generation of residents confronts fresh political controversy and growing public distrust surrounding Lyons’ scandal-plagued mayor, Chris Getty, who recently announced a run for U.S. Congress.
